The biggest gift my parents ever gave me, one that benefits me to this day, is that I was taught...and still firmly believe… that hard work and determination brings results!

Putting myself through college, working full time while maintaining an excellent GPA further reinforced the concept that hard work pays off. After starting my family I made the decision to transition my efforts into helping others.

After a good run with other small businesses, in 1993 I went to work full-time to help grow a business that was transitioning from office supplies to school supplies. Our goal was to be a deep discount mail order superstore, delivering educational supplies that teachers needed...and that they could afford! It was a very meaningful reason to work hard. The team was focused on helping teachers deliver a quality education in a fun and innovative classroom.

After a successful run, the company was  purchased and I got my first taste of working for a large corporation. My hard work and contributions led to a six-figure income. All good things come to an end if you are not in complete control. Massive integration left me with my well-compensated position, but with no job satisfaction.
